Solo Show at W Hotel Boston
From July through September 2026, my work is on display at the W Hotel Boston — Gallery Restaurant.
This show took months to plan. Before I cut a single piece of straw, I studied each space in the Gallery and mapped out how the pieces would sit within it and how they'd speak to one another once installed. I spent the following months making the work, then hung the show a week ago. Seeing it up now, I couldn't be more pleased with how it reads as a whole. The planning paid off. 😅
The show introduces two new series. The first is the Warmth Series, inspired by handmade quilts. These pieces have a distinct geometric structure — quilters will recognize the log cabin pattern underlying many of them, including Shell. The largest pieces in the series, Enveloped and Enter the Sun, use a gradient from dark brown to coral, giving them the same glow and warmth as a quilt pulled close on a cold night.
The second is the Aloft Series — abstract forms that many viewers read as butterflies. There's something whimsical in that, but also aspirational: a butterfly opens its wings and lets the air currents carry it. Being carried along like that seems a little like "going with the flow." Sometimes it's nice to just go where the winds take us.
If you're in Boston this summer, I'd love for you to see the show in person. Morning light in the Gallery Restaurant has a way of catching these pieces that photos just can't capture. The W Hotel Boston is open to the public for breakfast, so stop by for coffee and take a look. The show runs through the end of September 2026.
