Enter the Sun is a straw marquetry artwork that is geometric and radiant.  It is made from hand-dyed rye straw that is cut and laid in a repeating grid of triangles. The grid forms concentric diamond rings with the triangles by alternating ivory with coral, copper, rust, and warm brown — radiating outward from a glowing center. The directional lay of each straw triangle catches light differently across the surface, giving the piece a luminous, tactile shimmer. Float framed in black, 30 x 40in.

When I made Enter the Sun, I couldn't help but think of a sunrise. The start of every day brings infinite new possibilities.
