Palette: Bronze, Gray, Silver
Media: Acrylic-tinted methyl-cellulose paste on paper, mounted on wood board, and finished with high-gloss resin.
The Story: With its earthy monochromatic palette and organic background, “Crossings” evokes a sense of grounded tranquility. This work is made from paper, which was painted with a loose organic pattern to evoke a connection to nature. The painted paper was cut into smaller pieces, rearranged, and then collaged onto a wood panel. The bronze bands that cross the piece both vertically and horizontally are actually woven together. High-gloss resin is the finishing touch, augmenting the work by creating a heightened sense of dimensionality and vibrance. As a special surprise, when the viewer gets closer to the work, they will be rewarded with the discovery of a subtle sparkle (created with mica) throughout the piece, further adding to its texture.
