Studio Move

450 Harrison Ave 307B, Boston

Good News!

I’ve moved studios! Just one building over to 450 Harrison Ave, Studio 307B, Boston. I wanted a smaller space (my old one was huge!) and I’m now right in the heart of my artist community. It already feels more connected.

The Not-So-Good News

I broke my leg. Just before the move, I fell off a ladder and cracked my tibia. Thankfully I don’t need surgery, but I’ll be on crutches for the next six weeks.

Everything is in the new studio, but I can’t unpack, and I definitely can’t work right now. Crutches mean no free hands—and since I’m always moving as I work, I’ve essentially been grounded.

It’s not that I mind being still.  I don’t, as long as my mind and hands are busy. But the kind of stillness I’ve been in for the last week or so—the idle kind—is what challenges me.

Just a Moment, 48in x 39in (2024)

I’ve been thinking about my piece Just a Moment. I wrote this about it a few months ago:

Life often moves in waves—steady and rhythmic, but occasionally marked by peaks of intensity. Just a Moment explores the fleeting nature of those defining instances, where time feels suspended and we need to remind ourselves to breathe.

Right now, I’m in one of those peaks. Time has paused in a strange way, and I’m trying to remember to breathe.

This moment will pass. I’ll be back in the studio soon (hopefully by mid-July) and I’d love for you to stop by then. 😁
